The scholarship was established in fond memory of Donna Spellman, a past GPPCBA member Captain.
The scholarship award has been in existence since 2003.
The selected recipient receives a $1,000 cash award.
To be eligible, entrants must be enrolled undergraduate or graduate students,
in pursuit of a maritime related career, such as:
Merchant Marine Academy, Oceanography, Environmental Engineer, etc.

Attach an essay on your marine background, and your career goals (e.g. Mated on several charter boats, and want to become a Marine Biologist).
Post-Freshman candidates attach college transcript.
